GloBeat Ep013 Supports Brussels, Classic music deconstructed.

In solidarity with the people of Brussels and to honor the victims and survivors of the terror attacks of Tuesday March 22, 2016, we dedicate this GloBeat episode to them!

The program is an eclectic compilation of  classic music deconstructed and in some cases  rearranged  by artists from different nations and centuries.  We start by listening to “Le Secret”  by the   Belgian composer  Danielle Baas.   The program also includes  selections  from  Mile Davis,  Jane Birkin, Angelique Kidjo and the composer Henry Purcell .

This new episode has an eclectic mix of music,  from a whimsical dance number by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, to a lovely cantiga from a Spanish king composer from the 13th century,  to Yves Montand,  to an  Ethiopian  song by  Debo Band,  to the lebanese singer Fairuz  and the great Angolan singer Bonga.

In memory of those who were murdered we will play American music interpreted by artists from different origins and backgrounds to illustrate the universality of the American spirit and its cultural reach around the world.
